I landed this Green Lemon '59 Reissue a couple of days ago, all the way from Dave's to my home in Australia. As soon as I saw it I knew that I had to have it, and thankfully it's everything that I hoped it would be.

I'm absolutely stoked with this guitar... I can't stop playing it!

Many thanks once again to Laun at Dave's for looking after me (y)

Gorgeous! I just got a 2023 Murphy heavy aged R9 on Tues this week in that same color(see avatar pic) and love it so I know how you feel!
I think the Custom shop is really hitting out of the park these last two years!

Congrats.

Really vintage-y looking, this one. Nice dark board, just enough flame, some mineral streaks, and a great finish.

Enjoy your new US import in good health! 🍑

Wow! Gibson are making amazing guitars right now
They really are!

I used to perform quite extensive modding on my CS Les Paul's in the past, but these newer guitars are perfect straight out of the box IMO. The build quality and consistency is top notch and the sound that they produce is about as close to an original 50's guitar as you can get. I also own a 2021 54 goldtop reissue that is an insanely good guitar, in all honesty it is a better overall guitar than any of the original 54's that I've owned.

curious how long shipping took …any customs issues ?
Shipping only took 4 days from leaving the store to landing in Australia, and then another full week to get to me. I did have a Customs issue, but thankfully I managed get it sorted out. I had to pay 10% GST (tax), and an import handling fee (which goes without saying) but I also got slugged for import duty, which I disputed because Australia and USA have a free trade agreement that means there are no import tarrifs for most goods that are made in either of those countries. I had to prove that the guitar was made in the USA, which I managed to do by getting Dave's to sign a declaration. This caused a few extra days delay but it saved me paying an extra $500.
