Thought you guys might like to take a look.

The top is better than I imagined, the setup is better than I imagined and the neck is perfect. :dude

Nathan @ Music-Machine set me up with this, my first Historic Gibson. I about as pleased with this transaction as I could be. Music-Machine is one 1st class operation..

I didn't take off the pickguard. It came that way (in the case). There are not even holes for the pickguard on the guitar so I just haven't put it on yet....... Still kind of lightheaded :spin

Congrats Electric Ripple! That's a real nice one--is that what they call a "fiddle top"?

just added: Always wanted to hear from someone with one of those "Real Free" necks--is it kinda like a soft V (like on a 50's Strat?) becomming more round as you go down the neck?

Mine came with out the pick guard on too.
It's really hard to get yourself to drill a hole in the top.
I couldn't do it

Yeah, since it came without the pickguard installed and my style doesn't require one; I'm going leave it off............

Yeah....WHY would you cover that up with a pick guard?????

That's what I'm thinking on the pickguard........

Never made it to Atlanta by the way.... (or Nashville) I ended up letting Nathan do the legwork and although I kinda missed out on the adventure of "digging one out"; I have no regrets...... :hank

That is a wonderful looking R9! Congradulations.
Nathan, Rick and the boys at MM are super to deal with.

It's a very soft V.... These are the measurements: 1st fret-.91 inches, 5th-.95, 8th-.975, 12th-1.02 My Strat has a 10/56 neck profile so I really can't compare but it rounds out nicely as you go down the neck......

Translated to the BOTB format that's...

23.11 mm at the 1st fret

25.91 mm at the 12th

Beautiful guitar. :)
