i dont see where it says it is amahogany top. i do see plain top. i thimk it is maple/ it does talk about ahogany stain. i have a mahogany top on order i the thin cherry pore filler stain. i expect it to arrive at anytime but knowing gibson it probably will be a while.

You know his description is misleading. It sounds like he says Mahogany top.........maybe it isn't. The second picture looks like one. The pictures are real bad, matbe I will email him.

It is a maple top. Sorry! Looks like Mahogany in the second pic.

This guitar is a regular 01 R8 with a cherry finish. I was considering buying it but decided not to, I talked to him at length on the phone and found him to be upfront. Like the rest of us here he is just a player who enjoys good guitars, sent him an email inviting him to join.
