Thank You for the awnser! I edited my original post after i actually got a respons from gibson. i sent them an email a while back, But was getting unpatient.that is correct, based on the serial number.
the serial number breakdown would be:
8 - the reissue model year in this case 1958
8 - the calender year the guitar was made by Gibson Custom....could be either a 2008 or 2018 ( or for some models a 1998. specs/colors usually distinguish between the years)
the next digits would be the consecutive build number, for example 8 8250 would be the 250th guitar built
2009? did I read the numbers wrong? It looked like 8 8XXXThank You for the awnser! I edited my original post after i actually got a respons from gibson. i sent them an email a while back, But was getting unpatient.
Gibson actually comfirmed the SN as a costum shop junior DC from 2009 In their registry
I don't know what the original question was, since you deleted the first post, but serial numbers are not unique to each model but rather the year being reissued. 8 8 would have been used for all 1958 reissues made in 2008, so Les Paul Standards, Juniors, maybe Vs, and there were probably around 3,000 58s made in 2008, so yours being in the 700s would have placed it closer to Q1 or Q2 of 2008.But Maybe it was a very late Production In 2008 and was somehow transfered to 2009? Its 8 87xx so Maybe the 700’s was late 2008(?)
