ok....I'll match you
My Olympic White '60 CS "NoNeck" Strat. Massive neck...1" from 1st through 12th fret...a true baseball bat. I almost went for the RW board, but opted for the 1-piece maple.....sort of a 50/60's hybrid...other then the neck, all 1960 appointments

Awesome!!! what a stunning axe. and I really dig the Vibroverb reissue too. had one in the late 90's and it was the perfect small club amp. loud enough to come over the top of the drummer, but not loud enough to get you fired by the vocalist. LOL wish I still had mine. great combo you have there.

I'm sure the newer reissues are infinitely more authentic, but does an '84 57RI qualify for this thread? This is a shot from 2004, when a friend who's a pro photographer shot it for a Vintage Guitar article I wrote at the time.

Great guitar, I played the daylights out of it in the '80s, but the curvature of the fretboard is a bit off-putting. The flatter rosewood board on my other Strat is a bit more user-friendly.

Hey Ed, LOVE the Strat!!! I had one in the early 80's when I was living in Memphis that could have been it's twin.

Very early Fullerton build 1982 '62RI Strat V0003xx that is MINT...still has it's original strings and no screws turned since it left Fullerton! Purchased years ago from the original non-playing owner in NorCal that bought it new and many others as investments. He never played it and in the almost 10 years I've had it, I haven't played it either. It's just too clean! If I stray from my Gibsons and need a Strat, I'll go with my original '65 Oly White or an Inca Silver '08 Nash S63 with Don Mare pickups. On the other hand, my other early Fullerton reissue shown in the bottom photo, is a well played 1982 '52 RI Tele 03xx that is awesome and get plenty of playing!

That's kinda interesting on the '62 Reissue. My '57 reissue is pretty close condition-wise and is Ser # V0003XX as well.

Did you buy it as a Blackie homage, as I did mine? I wonder how sales of the early Strat reissues fared in the 1980s, the age of the Van Halen/heavy metal-inspired "Super Strat?"

here is mine 1987 57 reissue. It is a great sounding strat but for some reason I have never bonded with it. My MIJ strats get all the attention. It was my first electric so Its sentimental. I bought it at voltage Guitars when they were right by the Hollywood GC in about 1993.

Duane, do you have any review posted on strat pickups?

No... I've been tempted to try some pickup swaps in these to see if that would give them any more play time, but for all intents and purposes, when I want to play I reach for a Les Paul and nothing else will do. Last week a friend came over to inspect my collection and he was much more interested in those two than the CCs and Sigs... and we ended up jamming with them for quite a while. It was nice, but when he left they went back into hiding. The only Fender I've really bonded with is my Roland Strat... because I can plug it directly into the GR-55S Synth and really torment my neighbors... :spabout

Love the white Tele! It must be a joy to play. Makes me want one.

It's a hoot... I'm primarily a Les Paul guy, but its nice to have a change every once in a while... it generally not long before they get closeted again in favor of a Lester though... :salude

I was digging out my ES345 and found this thing, I kind of forgot about it. 57 RI, not even sure what year it is. Got it dialed in this morning and it sounds great. Really lightweight.

That's Beautiful.

thanks aj ...this guitar is wonderful ....light weight, tight neck pocket fit ...I put a set of Duncan antiquity surf pups in it and it's a keeper ...plus, I like that Fender tinted the neck and fingerboard unlike most custom shop or master builds
