• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I put a t shirt on my Tux, I wanted a more classic rock Custom look.
I put a Suhr Aldridges in it. This are great hi gain pickups, they clean up nicely. The guitar sounded great with the 490's, but these are very nice. And the pickups are cheap by todays standards, $208 a set, with covers if you want them. My next guitar is going to be a Suhr.

What's the neck profile like on your 2012 custom? I am on the hunt for an ebony board version, have a lot of people telling me not to "settle" for anything but a 57ri. They're slightly hard to find at the moment.

that's crap, two different animals. I like the modern one better, but I buy guitars to play. The all Hog 57 sounds dull. to me. The neck is thinner and easier to play.

One man's dull is another man's warm. I dig the darker tone of the all Hog 57. My tastes lean toward jazzier sounds. I favor 6L6 amps versus EL34 and thicker strings.
