• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

There's a link to the VintageHaven site in another post... the pic is there, if you want to see it again.

??? When I looked at this thread in the morning someone has posted a picture with those VitageHaven tips again the Uncle Lou and the Real Deal Tips. Then there was a conversation about those tips and how great thes looked with TW59 and Abalonevintage involved. Now this all gone...
Can someone explain this?:bigal

I.............can't. :hee

Maybe those replica tips were considered advertising. (?)

Hmm, so one member posts a picture of allpart tips against real ones and this is information and entertainment and then another member posts a picture of VintageHaven tips against the real ones and this is then advertising??? C'mon gimme a break!
But anyway, just deleting not only the "advertise" post but also the other members posts without explanation is just bad style...
I know, the forum rules allow the mods to do so, but with a little common sense it should be clear that doing this should only be ultima ratio and not the usual way of moderating a thread - at least unless we haven't arrived in some kind of "Chinese democracy" yet.:2cool

Thank you Blues Bird... the powers to be (possibly Chinese) have also deleted the reference within the Plastic comparison thread in the Historic District. I thought this Forum was about sharing information? I was only responding to question posted by abalonevintage (post now deleted????).

One rule for some, curtains for others... I see dozens of the chosen few's blatant references to their own sites. I didn't even post the f**king photos on the Plastic thread. The stupid thing is they left the link to my site (see post above) but be quick because it won't be there for long! Ulterior motives abound in these here parts.

My guess is that one of the posters is the owner or affiliated with Vintage Haven. A couple other threads he was spamming up got hosed down too.

WOW this is one hell of a thread derail!

Wrong guess Mark.

I posted some pics of Vintage Haven tips (no linky here) AFTER I'd posted some earlier posts showing some aged Uncle Lou tips on my own guitar???? It was merely showing a comparison in replica parts.

I guess it could be assumed that I am somehow 'affiliated' with Uncle Lou also? WTF!

One things for sure, the Uncle Lou tips will be getting swapped out - but hey, he's still my uncle! :rofl

Anyway, regardless of any of this shit, and back to the OP - yep, those minty Kluson tuners look great! :salude

Personally, I am going to adopt a new tact - when I want to refer to a "brand name" or website, I am going to just "get close" and/or refer to a word that rhymes with said name/website. Example: "I just got food poisoning from a fast food hamburger joint. I can't say the name, but it rhymes with "Lendy's"...":lol

So, How 'BOUT those "Uncle Blue" tips?

That's me alright. But the funny thing is - Mintage Cravin' is not 'me' but some great people I know. In the same way people here know and go to Muncle Flu, Maulfarts, FlatGalMoley, Slim LaBeouf - etc, for replacement and vintage guitar parts.

I am a paying customer with Splintage Shaven. Not affiliated.
Just happens I like what they do and how they treat their customers. Yes, and we are friends too!

The link above (thanks Mark) on a completely different forum, was particularly aimed at guitar fanatics outside of the USA (yes, we do exist). Why pay extortionate duty and import tax on a product which originates from the UK, if you live in the UK or Europe particularly. I should not even have to explain myself.

It feels to me that something underlying is going on here. Whose toes are getting trodden on?

I must be mistaken then as I was told you did their website for them in return for some share of the business.

You are very mistaken Mark. I'd like to know who you heard that from. Sounds like someone has been stirring it up and got stuck on the spoon.

Is this a place to discuss the 'Gibson Les Paul', or a sewing circle for a few gossipy old women?

Re: Upgrade Plastics Comparision Thread
How can a post about tuner tip replacements, on an 'open' thread about replacement parts, be considered 'spam'? I would have thought it qualifies as 'sharing information'.

As I said on a previous post, I did do the guys website, but that's it. I thought the pictures and product were worth sharing.
