• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how things are going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I think you are remembering wrong. Gibson had already done a few Jr runs in 80-90's. I believe you are confused with the stack humbucker p100. AFAIK no Jr ever had a p60 and it has never been reissued.
Nope... I remember it distinctly because of their description of it having a nice "yackety" sound. That's what attracted me. The ad posted by Ed here is not it. That's more recent. But since I posted about this pickup, I now remember it might have been a "custom shop" release, not a standard production model.

ES-125TCD used P90s. Traded a pistol for one in the 60's wish I still had it - sounded great and worth $5k now. Traded it for a Mosrite that the guys thought was 'brighter' due to the angled neck pup. I think both were soap bar style. Both could be very mellow or screamers. Just traded my Cort copy Strat for an Epi LP with metal cover humbuckers, not very 'mellow' at all. Do the covers make a difference? Haven't played anything with metal since the Silvertone in the 50's. Who makes a P90 that fits in a HB neck cutout?

Duncan makes a nice chrome-covered one with the 6 poles down the middle. They also make a multi-coil model that does a P-90, a Strat and a 'bucker. There are others out there. Check eBay.
