Earliest 1968 Les Pauls - rare truss rod cover, possible tip for authenticating?

You'll probably get something good for it. Your cover is kind of reverse to the example I used. Lots of 68's have been converted to 50's LP's so there might be a few of those truss covers kicking around. Still very rare as I could only find the two examples sold on reverb I put below.

Yeah, those were the two I saw as well. I have it up there for 399. It’s kind of weird that somehow I wound up with this rare truss rod cover. I’ve had it for like 40 years and it came on my 55 Junior that I got in the 80s, not original to the guitar course. I thought about keeping it, but I really have nothing to put it on.
