• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I'm testing out some es335 guitars and noticed that on the 2018 guitar, the cutaway depth was about even with the 22nd fret. The 2018 guitar came with a COA so maybe it is custom shop. The 2022 guitar has the depth at about the 21st fret. Anyone have experience with this?

RE: Custom Shop versus other... What are the serial number formats? Also, the COA would be signed by CS Manager in Nashville, versus the one in Memphis to separate them.

Whether or not that helps with clarification, it is known that all the ES press molds and shapes were re-done when Memphis shut down and the entire line was being unified in Nashville.

The restart of ES in Nashville was accompanied by redesign of all ES press molds and shapes, both USA or Custom Shop being redone and reintroduced... in particular adherence to proper year classification as well as being more accurate based upon their collected catalog of scanned examples.

This may explain what you are seeing. For confirmation, I suggest to pose it to Gibson's Mat Koehler in his thread. He is certainly the 'honcho' of the new ES product line.
