I won this on 2006 Nocaster Relic on Ebay

Fender calls it a '51 Nocaster but it is actually a Custom Shop "Partcaster".It has a '51 Nocaster body and a 60 Tele Custom neck. The color is Coral Pink but it has yellowed looks more like a Pumpkin.Maybe that's why this one day auction was on Halloween, lol.

There's been some real nice work coming from Fender's CS over the past 10 years. HN(O)GD :salude

Thanks! This is sort of an odd guitar. I won it on Ebay for $1577. Even though Fender calls it a Nocaster it is more like a fantasy creation of The Custom Shop. The Body, pickguard, knobs and pickups are Nocaster parts but the neck is a Custom 60s Telecaster neck with a 7.25 radius rosewood fret board with clay dots, vintage frets and an Oval C-shaped profile(specs are at the bottom).

The Coral Pink finish has yellowed to an almost copper color which is highlighted by the Blackguard and rosewood fretboard. You can just barely see a touch of pink at the bottom edge

The Fender CS does mix and match features from different years on a lot of their vintage recreations.

Wildwood usually has a large selection and you can see by the combinations Fender comes up with that they are really trying to build for a wide audience.

I'm sure there are many players who'd like a No Caster but would prefer a 60s neck. Sounds like an awesome combination! :peace2

Thanks for the posts. Coral was a '55 Chevrolet color Here is a photo of an unrestored 1955 Chevy Bel Air with original Coral and Gray factory paint job (link)

Absolutely! My favorite Strats from these runs have the '56 V neck with 10" radius on '59 Strats with Rosewood boards. Really wished I hadn't contemplated that purchase tho. I had a NOS in Burgundy Metallic with Braz board in my sites and waited too long. :dang

Forgot to mention that you stole that guitar Kwest! Great score! :peace2

Thanks so much! I thought it was a pretty good price. I really hadn't been planning on buying another guitar but last Friday this auction just popped up on my Ebay homepage with only 29 minutes before it closed. It had only one bid of $1495.00 The seller had made it a one day auction closing at 6:00pm on Halloween. I think if he had let it run for 7 days like a normal auction he would have done better.

I tried to take some pictures in natural light but the sun wouldn't cooperate so this was the best I could do.

I think the aging and re-licking looks very natural on this guitar.

It matches my amp too
