Cooper Musical Components Tailpiece Vs Historic Tailpiece Or Others?

Did the strings in the slots fit like a glove for you and did you get it aged? He included a letter and toothpick in the box about this, but I didn't have any issues. I am trying to help Coop by posting here because I personally want to support homegrown US companies in this space. I just bought another tailpiece for my upcoming M2M. I can't believe how different it is from the Historic piece, on my scale, it is a little bit lighter too.
It did fit nice and snug. No issues here either. It is definitely lighter than the historic and the aging is very nice. I'm with you on supporting local businesses too, and he seems like a real good fellow.

Just wanted to add testimony. I got the first one, with a little bit of skepticism. When I got it I weighed it compared to the Gibson Murphy Lab/Historic pieces and those were .1 of an ounce heavier, and in a drop test nearly identical sounding. Not quite the same, but not so different as to be super noticeable.

That said, I installed it with the same strings to test the difference, and was blown away that I could actually REALLY hear the difference. Mind you I was super skeptical that there would be any noticeable difference after comparing them off the guitar. But there's seriously a nuance that the Cooper tail piece added to the guitar. You can hear it acoustically immediately.

So I bought a second one, and seemingly the very last one available from this batch.

Super pleased, and well worth it for me.
