Did Obeid Kahn design this one? I know he did quite a bit of work on the "new" Magnatone line and has worked with Billy before. He's very, very good!
No idea. Magnatone only say Obeid Khan runs engineering and Dave Ryan and Diane Villani are their master builders.

Khan runs his own firm, and you can contact him there: https://khanaudio.com/

Thanks...it's not that important to me to bother Obeid, lol. I'm not buying one. But I know he loves Marshalls, knows them very well. I'd be surprised if he wasn't involved in this design.

I've not heard a bad Magnatone since the brand was revived. Truly great modern amps with a "vintage sound".
I have played a bunch of them and love them.

If I could get my wife to move them for me I would buy one.

Suckers are SO heavy!

My Panoramic Stereo Head was not heavy by any measure considering it houses two class AB tune power sections. It was a gorgeous looking and more importantly gorgeous sounding amp.

Does BFG actually play the Magnatones?
From what I have read in the past is that he uses Marshall JMP-1 preamps and everything on the stage is just for props.
The 2 rig rundown videos I just looked at show the JMP-1's but the most recent was from 2015.

No hidden secrets here. That tone is about as perfect as it gets.

I know the room is full of righteous amps, but he played through the Magnatone Super 59 for the episode.
