• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I've had this a couple of days now, but I've been ill, so I haven't had a lot of time with it :dead:

Anybody got any idea what "ENG M635 BASS" on the inspection label means? (it's right beside another word, "Rosemary" :) )

Anyway, the first thing I did was stick in the RICH master. The only other change I've made is I've moved the neg feedback wire to the green 8ohm tap on the selector. I also installed some 1 ohm resistors on the output valves for biasing.

I have no idea, but I will bump with a wild a$$ guess could that signify that the amp was set up for English distribution with EL34 power tubes instead of 6560s which were used in US.-bound amps???.

And welc9me....

My own 1973 50 watt has Rosemary's signature, simply confirming that she has passed the amp section she was responsible for, allowing distribution to the outlets Marshall used at that time. I forget what part of the amp she was signing off on but her signature has become a curiously desired feature, for reasons not exactly clear to anyone. Nvertheless I love this sort of romantic ephemera that comes with these classic amplifiers..

However on a practical note I would guess that Wally has put his finger on the truth..
