2018 Les Paul Custom Fretboard Material

I'm hoping to gain some info from the collective expertise here.

I have a line on a really nice Les Paul Custom, a guitar I have been searching for for a wee while now.

It is a 2018 model and the seller believes it has a Richlite fretboard. However, when searching for info online I am finding a lot more info that says the 2018s had Ebony fretboards, including from reputable big name dealers.

I do not want the guitar if it has Richlite (I am not necessarily against it as I have it on an acoustic, but at the price of a LPC I expect more than Richlite), but if it has Ebony I'll be at the guy's house in less than an hour to snag the guitar.

So can anyone here clarify this for me please?

You can never guarantee by year how Gibson operates. 2018 should have ebony, but call Gibson Customer Service with the serial and they should confirm.

Also, hi-res close-up photos of the board should tell the tale.

Good suggestions, but there are two issues.

First, the guy is in hospital so isn't with his guitar to get me the serial number (this is legit as we know each other from a guitar forum, I know he has been in hospital for a while, and he will have to be picked up and brought home to do the sale then later taken back to hospital). Because of that he also cannot give me more photos, although I can ask if he has any on his phone. The second, bigger, problem is that Gibson doesn't keep records of info on guitars sent out of the US (their lifetime warranty also doesn't apply). I've found this out after calling to get info on a couple of other guitars that I own. If I can get the serial number I will try them, but am not hopeful they will be of any help. Stupid Gibson.
