I really like my 16 Trad but just haven't bonded with the larger 50's style neck. My 2 Norlin era's and 19 Classic all feel relatively the same. My question is can the neck profile be changed to a 60's profile without compromising the neck stability since it is a mahogany neck ?

Yes it can be done Lay's Guitar done this mod to Jimmy Page's #1 but the price to do it would probably be expensive..I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself, it's a fine line between thinning a neck and going to far and having major truss rod issues ect..Hope this helps

I am heading up Lay's Saturday I will ask them. I am dropping off my 78 Deluxe for a re-fret. They did my 80 Standard 2 years ago and it's amazing. I thinned necks years ago when I was a tech, but nothing as expensive as this. I don't want to compromise neck integrity or create stabilization issues. Thanks, Tom..
