I picked up my new 2016 Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded in August from a store in Den Haag. It took me a few tries before I found the right one. I went from buying online to getting one from a store where I could try a couple out first. It has a reasonably nice top and good weight at 8.3 lbs. I pulled the pickups and it has 57 Classics. Thanks to Gibson!!

Here is scan of the photo which was in the case. I guess it is from the workbench of the Gibson employee who inspected the guitar.

What kind of lacquer do they use in the Faded Standards? Talking about the old ones from 05-08

It was a risk selling my 2013 Gibson Les Paul Studio 60's Tribute (8lbs 14oz) to fund buying the 2016 Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded (8lbs 5oz). It really paid off and the Standard Faded is a great guitar.

The 57 Classics are excellent pickups and will stay in the guitar. There was a slight issue with the high E string to near the edge of the fretboard. My tech installed a TonePros bridge without notches (he did them himself) and that fixed the problem.
