• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Noticed this on the bay...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33040&item=7321369881&rd=1

2002 but,

speed knobs, Standard TRC, Grovers, thick cutaway binding. All pre-02 attributes

Nicely flamed AA top in Lightburst, BB's and LP5 in bridge pup cavity, plastic jack plate and black case. All 02 attributes...

So a good example of a transition guitar I guess..

Going by the serial No. 00402504, it was made 8 days before mine which has none of the 2001 attributes...

Those aren't Burstbuckers. The baseplates are stamped Gibson USA which is not consistent with Burstbuckers. The Burstbuckers have a plain baseplate with a "Patent Applied For" sticker. If the serial number is correct it appears to be an '01 body with an '02 neck. Also, those black cases didn't come out until well after the serial number would indicate. They switched mid-year and that serial number is from February.

Mine is 00222433, and is all 2002 spec with a brown case. That one is a nice looking guitar, but what is it? And no, they don't look like Burstbuckers. It seems like a bit of an oddball to me. Pretty though.
