I was surprised to see this old thread still going. Here's a picture of my '55 to '59 conversion that started the thread,but with a new finish and inlays from Kim and the new crew at Historic Makeovers.

Hey Philb, I am actually thinking of buying your old guitar from a guitar shop (small world!). Just wondering if we could connect some time tomorrow over email to chat about this guitar - mainly want to know why you sold it all those years ago, if the tone and feel justify the $18,000 price tag, and if you have any advice for me before I pull the trigger.
