1952 Les Paul head repair, broken in 1958....

This particular Goldtop was broken in a studio in NY in 1958 when it was laid on a couch and someone sat on it. They gorped a bunch of glue in, wrapped tape around it and torqued a big clamp on. In recent years, tuning became a party.
