Gibson in K-zoo was unionized. There was a strike in the early 70's, after which the principals at Gibson decided to build a new plant in a right to work state.

Henry had established Gibson as the number one guitar company in the world when it was attacked by our government in 2009. This was an act of war against private citizens. This was the first sign that an evil deep state had formed in America.
Complete rubbish, every dumb ass word. Pants on fire.
If you were born and raised in Michigan but then you grew up, got married and move to Tennessee are you still the same family? Yes, you are and Gibson is still Gibson. Yeah it would be cool if a Gibson was still running the ship but that's not how it happened. Sometimes I think everyone(myself included) really mystifies the bursts to the point that anything that happened in those magical few years is perfection and anything outside of that is sub-par. But the fact of the matter is that's just not true. Gibson has well over a century of history and if you only define them by just three years of production you rob them of that heritage.
I'm thinking of Fender. Their founder sold the company. They moved out of their original building and the founder, Leo Fender, moved his new, little company, G&L, back into that building and re-instituted many of the original processes on the original scale. Which is more Fender, Fender or G&L?

The McCarty era did not last three years.
Manufacturing companies began leaving the US after the Gibson attacks of 2009 and 2011. Gibson was told by the deep state Stazi to leave and go to Mozambique. Millions of jobs were lost as this started the outflow of US manufacturing companies to overseas countries where they would be safer. The evil deep state literally drove onto private property at Gibson and stole millions of dollars of wood which they had to later return.
Never said it did, I'm saying that most people think of the 58, 59 and 60 LPs as the pinnacle years and they are but I also think its a little exaggerated as well
You are deluded by radical poltical dogma and it is apparent in your posts, which like your previous fable post has not a single true fact. LEAVE YOUR BULLSHIT POLITICS OUT!!!! THERE IS A GOOD REASON WE DON'T INDULGE.

No I agree, it just seemed to me that you were saying that I mentioned those three years as what entirely makes Gibson when I never did. My bad.

My 2016 is a Gibson , most companies as old as Gibson evolve over the years & change . I read this on most of the forums I'm on is Ducati still Ducati is Land Rover still Land Rover total nonsense. If you don't change with your market it can be a tough go .I don't see the op as trolling. Seems an interesting enough topic to discuss and not out of bounds, nor has the op posted in anything other than expressing his opinion and raising questions. Agree or not, it seems like a spirited discussion and not "poking the bear".
