• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just left the orthopedic surgeons office

Fug! What did you do? I don't use rotator cuffs. I like the old french style with cufflinks...

I think you'll be surprised how quickly 12 months will pass...you'll be doing the Pete Townsend windmill before you know it...:hank

I'd tell everyone it was a 130lb amp you were throwing on the back of an 18 wheeler from a standing start....it just seems to sound better..:laugh2:. Like the times I was beaten in a fight - there was always 4 of 'em....:laugh2:

Hope the OP and the recovery go well.. :salude

Sorry to hear this. Been there and done that on right shoulder 15 years ago blown out by lifting weights. Rehab was horrendous. My left shoulder needs rebuilding now but as long as I can sleep on it at night I'm not getting cut on again. Hope your surgery goes better than mine did!

Thanks, Rev.

Im OK during the day if I don't do anything stupid, but sleeping is hard.

I've heard many not-so-good stories. We'll see, this surgeon comes highly recommended.

Very smart, so far I like him.

Ask them to set your arm in the playing position like Les did!
:hank

The Doc laughed when I told him how it happened.

There are many worse things that can happen to one or their family.

I'll just have to hang around here more often.

My brother had it done last February and he says he's ready to haul in some BIG fish next weekend!
(he'd better be ready - I don't want to be responsible for him f'ing up his shoulder again...)

So sorry to hear this, brother. Listen to your old grumpy grampy Al now, it will be painful, you can take it. It will be frustrateing, you can push though it. I'm telling you that you will be playin a whole lot quicker than you think, I know it.

Anything I can do, just ask. Send me an email, if you want to talk I'll shoot you my number. I've been there, it ain't that bad and you'll whip this with one arm behind .... oops, I mean you will be OK. I mean it when I say anything I can do, I'll help in any way I can.

Be well, Brother

Funny how things have a stronger gravitational pull as you get older.
