• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Let's hear it for the Les Paul Studio!

theres some fine looking guitars here--
the premplus is awesome--
and that bluetop with bigsby is obscene--
always loved that re-fin goldtop,

I have 3 studios, first was a Gothic, which i never really gelled with (caused me to buy my first standard )

my second, was my own well documented re-fin--the Raw-raw power, which has 490/498 pups, and the fattest neck i own -a 95.
here he is=

[/IMG]

and then i saw another, which i had to have--an 02, with the pups and electrics from a recent standard--I messed with the plastic to get more comfortable with it, but its one of my favs---got me gassing for a VM right now--
heres the 2 together

definately money well spent.
cheers guys

I don't have one at the moment but I have had nice 93 studio in the past. I have also played lots in stores and many sound and feel great. I have never tried one of those VM studios though

Do you have any pics of that Guitar before it was refinned?

No, but it was just your 'standard' '95 Wine Red LP Studio...played by a guy in a punk band who had stickers all over it...and used a garden trowel for a pick. A decent chunk of wood was missing from the bottom of the cutaway, probably in an effort to "rawk", and it was just generally an ugly duckling. I'm a sucker for an old GT, so what they hey?:)

hi hillbilly!
wow, that refin looks amazing!
would you care to tell me who did it - and what one would have to expect to pay for it?

thanks a lot!

- 68.

I work for RS Guitarworks, so I had some pretty cool guys to assist me in the project...:ganz :)

You can find what one would expect to pay at the RS website.

Here's my '07 Vintage Mahogany. Stock, except for the nickel Grover tulips I put on. It's my first LP... there will definitely be more, eventually.

Hey, thanks. I found 'em on the 'bay, for around $45, so I grabbed them. They're 14:1, I believe. I like the stock ones, but I just had to have the shiny. :hee

Mine is a mid '95 that I bought in January '04. I remember the date because I had just quit smoking and decided to buy a guitar to remind myself how stupid it was to keep setting fire to my money... :fc

It was love at first play, my first Gibson and to this day probably my best guitar. It plays so nicely and felt like a HUUUUGE step up from the Epiphone Standard I traded in against it (no disrespect to those of you who have Epis BTW it served me well).

I sometimes wonder if I should maybe upgrade the pickups/pots but then I just think naah....leave it as it is... :dude:
