• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

To owners of this model? What is the weight on your guitar?

There is a guitar for sale locally and the owner says that the weight is 4,8 kilos (over 10lbs!).
Another guitar on Ebay fwiw is listed at 3490gram (just over 8lbs).

With the same specs and electrics, is it really possible that the woods differ by up to 40%? Sounds unreasonable to me.

Sounds fishy unless his stash is inside...

My real 58 weighed more than my 54 and 56 Les Pauls. Some were quite heavy and yes, wood can vary quite alot.

The '58 RI's I have seen are in the 8 to 8.5 lb range.

I have a '59 RI which is very, very similar and weighs 8.2 or 8.4 lbs. I have two 335's and cant remember which weight is for which guitar.

Great guitars. 10 lbs. does not seem right, though.

There is a possibility that the listed guitar weight is wrong? Balancing an ES-335 on a tiny digital kitchen scale can be tricky.

Thanks for the input guys.
I think I`m gonna pass on the guitar, as I just found a sunburst `63 CS ES335 with a "normal" weight (just over 8lbs).
