• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What, selling it, after all that work?

Don't tell me that was Bavarian Makeover V2.3 and now he's up to V3.4 or something like that, you can't get insecure when bastards like Gibson and makeover builders keep upgrading historic-ness!

This just goes to show that if you buy a guitar and you're not happy with it, doing all these upgrades are not gonna make it any better.

Not sure how accurate the colors are in the photos of the completed guitar, but if that's the way it looks in person, I wouldn't be totally enamored with the cherry sunburst on this guitar.

Yea, it seems everything looks too orange, the center should look more yellow rather than orange. Maybe to much intensity on the yellow on that laquer, it has to be more pale from the begginimg since the clear coat darkens it afterwards

Given that this has period correct dye and finish etc - technically would sticking it in direct sunlight for a few months fade that top closer to ice tea? Eventually to Lemmon yellow?
What about putting it into a sunbed?

Maybe it was was period correct yellow dye, but the amount wasn't. Too yellow from the beggining.
Sunbathing may turn things worse, cause the light coat will amber more than the yellow dye fade.

Nothing wrong with the colour.
Especially the tophats are dead on like used 50's Gibson tophats.

Outstanding guitar. It's worth it just for the Brazilian board. Tell me why you used the wrong era tuners on this very expensive makeover? All the attention to vintage specs and yet the tuners? You had me sold until the finish checking. I don't get it. I hope you adore it and it sounds amazing. Beautiful top too. Congrats.
