I have read on Clay's site and in "Gibson Electrics The Classic Years" that the Trini Lopez guitars had a 24 3/4 scale, however I have an original NOS 60's fingerboard and it is 25 1/4.

??????????????????

Can some of you guys measure your Trinis so we can nail this down?

There were two Trini Lopez models: the Standard and the Deluxe. The Trini Lopez Standard was based on the ES-335 and had the 24 3/4 scale. The Trini Lopez Deluxe was based on the Barney Kessel model which had a 25 1/2 scale. Looks like your board was intended to go on the Deluxe.

That is interesting...

The Gibson Classics book is WRONG, because it says the Deluxe has a 24 3/4 scale.

Clays site only references the 24 3/4 scale and makes no mention of a 25 1/2.

Incidentally, Gibson marked the fingerboards.....25 1/4!

Hummmm....

I appreciate you guys input. Thanks!

Apparently Duchossoir took his info from Gibson's catalog info, which would seem to be incorrect.

I just looked on GBase, where there are currently about a half dozen Lopez Deluxes. Only two of the listings mention scale length, and both are given as 25 1/2".

And by the way, the Gibson catalog also says that the Lopez Deluxe had ebony fingerboards. At Gbase, I see both ebony and rosewood given as the fretboard material on a couple of examples there. Is the above NOS board ebony or rosewood? It looks more like rosewood, but I've seen photos make ebony look like rosewood, so I'm just curious...
