• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Anyone here own one or play one? Have the korina big bad and don't want to drop the money needed for a Gibson historic V.

I have owned a ton of Deviser builds, mostly Bacchus but also Momose and Deviser OEMs for shops in Japan.
I haven't had a Momose in my hands yet that was a disappointment.
If you have concerns about anything make sure the seller can offer valid responses but the products are excellent.

EDIT: I see you're in Minnesota; me too.

Not a Momose but a pre-serialized Bacchus BFV-58KV from circa 1997 that Aki Shiokawa (at Deviser) said is from the original run of Korina Vs from Deviser.
I purchased this example in 2010 and it was sold to me as a prototype.
I do know that this is the only BFV-58KV that I have ever seen without (1) a serial number (2) bridge post mounted directly into the body lumber (3) a 2 piece/center line neck. This example has a 1 piece neck.
This Bacchus example pre-dates the original run of Momose Korina MFVs by about 15 years.
The white Limba used for this Bacchus example is also fairly figured which the Momose examples that I have seen never have such figured body lumber.
Momose MFVs do however have Madagascar fingerboards.
Momose Vs have a long neck tenon. They do not have the extended tenon that ends mid way between the two pickup routes, like a 1958 Gibson V.

I have a Momose Korina V that is outstanding, I can't recommend it highly enough. I find the quality, playability, feel, tone, etc. second to none. If you can find one, I doubt you would be disappointed.

Here's a pic along with a black Korina Momose V that I sold a while back.
