• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

This may be getting to be an old topic, but ...

Hey, it's got that special bolt-on neck modification that Page installs on all of his Pauls for extra added sustain! :lolspin :lolspin :lol2 :lol2

Where can I get the Duncans with three (3) height adj screws on the bass side?
Well, it could be worse for the high bidder: it could have... ehh... it could...

Who am I kidding? It couldn't be worse.

Don't Laugh!

That guitar is actually THE Les Paul that Jimmy Page used to record the entire album "Physical Grafitti"!

The added "sustain-o-matic" neck-plate is a Page patented feature which dramatically increases sustain of the guitar. The guitar comes with 3 which can be easily swapped (remove strings, bridge, neck and all electronics) so that the exact amount of sustain can be "dialed in" depending on what song Jimmy is playing at a given time.

Saylor is Seymour's older brother. Thus the "Saylor Duncan" pickups are not as common as the lower priced "Seymour Duncan" pickups (Saylor uses pure 24k gold wire to do the windings (BY HAND) for each pickup!).
They are potted in pure Bolivian Beeswax (by HAND).

I think that many of you so-called "experts" missed the boat on this museum-quality collectors DREAM!

the pick guard scrimshaw is from the first album cover

Yeah...umm...sure. Looks more like it was in the event depicted on the first album cover.

That thing is singed beyond recognition.

That thing needs a Viking funeral. Just float that POS out to sea and we'll shoot flaming arrows at it from the shoreline.:lol2 :lolspin

Come on now guys!!!!... That guitar's pups are so F**King hot that the pick guard has not only melted but it has shrunk too. When he said it smoked he ment it literally. I'm not sure why he thought the gaurd was from the first album cover because I personally am convinced it was actually cut from the album's vinyl itself.

I like the knobs though!!!:lol2

Oh, the humanity!

Sorry, couldn't resist a little Hindenbergh humor.

But seriously, folks....how large do you think that pickguard initially was before they stuck the shrinky-dink into the oven and it reduced down to its current size?

I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself and now the muscles in the back of my head are cramping, and my cheeks hurt, and I am out of wind !!

I loved the responses to the "Jimmy Page" LP....espaecially the one about the Viking funeral.....

But seriously, I am not wanting to turn this into the ebay joke board, but I figured you guys could seriously appreciate the 710.00 dollar POS I found.....Hell I just bought THREE L-6S's for that and 1 was a Silverburst, and last year bought THREE S-1's for that as well.....
