• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I appreciate that Gibson is trying new design variations, but at the end of the day I'd rather have either an ES-335 or solid Les Paul :wah

Gibson gave a blue sparkle one to my friend Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones a little over 20 years ago when he was playing with Charlie Musselwhite. Nice sounding guitar. :yah

My problem with this and all f hole Lesters so far is that the f holes are too big, like really ES sized. With the Lesters smaller body they should have smaller f holes, like the ES140 3/4 scale guitars.

F holes are probably this size to facilitate stuffing the pots in the guitar.

Smokin' version of It Hurts Me Too, but I like the Standard look better than the Sunburst Custom.

Wasn't this called the Les Paul Florentine first time around? I've seen quite a few Customs, often in metal flake .

I played the Studio version a while back, and it definitely has it's own thing going - and not in a bad way.
A bit of the ES, with more of the beef of a Lester.

I like it, but wish the back and side were in a more red color like the solid ones.

That walnut is still a pretty tasty color for that...especially with the double-binding.

I agree. For a departure from traditional, it still looks "right".

Yeah, I remember the Florentine from long ago ...loved that look!

So to my eye this one is really nice ...but I wonder how all-lam construction will sound in the markedly smaller lester body? Were the old Florentines all solid wood like the machined CS336? I wonder if the lam bod of this "ES" will tip the voice closer to the ES than the CS336 --the latter of which IMHO is biased more toward the LP.
