• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So Gibby is no longer using that baked maple?

"Baked" maple may not be a traditional Gibson wood but may be here to stay as a readily available replacement for ebony.

From their specs it looks like the new studios will use granadillo across the board as a rosewood sub.

From the description at the above page this "substitute" wood may be a decent choice.

Baked maple is so much better for you than fried maple.

Once they paid the fine they went back to Rosewood for 2013. So it's not really surprising that they are giving away the 2012 USA models.
