• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

"Pump And Dump" Black Beauty Update

Went on a fact finding mission several months ago about this 71 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty I inherited from a relative.
Being relatively new to this forum, I suppose I made an error about asking what it would be worth if I wanted to sell it.
I was then accused of "pump and dump" by a few, which really never entered my mind for a second.
Anyhow, I now have period correct wafflebacks on it, removed the non original pickup covers to expose the T-tops, got some period correct witch hat knobs, and an aged RS bridge and lightweight tailpiece.
After further digging, it was discovered to have a fretboard replacement and from some comments about it, a painstaking pro job.
I play this one almost exclusively now and for what it's worth, here's how it turned out...(Sorry there's so many pix, just kill it when you've had enough.

Loving it...the fact it was an inheritance makes it doubly so?

Thanks for the photo gallery, great pics.

Really nice...thanks for sharing.

Is she for sale? :hee

I'd have a very hard time parting with it for now being that it was an inheritance and holds some personal memories.
As retirement approaches, who knows? Everything has a price.

Thanks all for the nice comments.
I think I need to give her a name now that she's part of the family.

The for sale comment was a joke, based on the allegation that you were hawking the git.

Have you considered 'Fat-Bottomed Bitch' as a name?

she's quite a beauty; you should hang onto her forever.

"Fat Bottomed Girl" would serve as an easily identifiable Rock n roll reference, plus you could use it in regular conversation without sounding like a vulgar Male Chauvinist!
