• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Post your Collector's Choice here

I thought it might be an idea to have a thread showcasing all the Collector's Choice guitars here, from the Melvyn Franks (Gary Moore), through the Goldies, the Donnas (eventually/hopefully), and beyond .....

And it would save me (and you guys) hopping from thread to thread to see and compare them all. I'm nothing if not lazy!

I'd be happy to start the ball rolling, but I don't have one and I don't want to use Forum member's pics without permission, but this might suffice meantime:-

I know that Goldie belongs to you poon, but is the Melvyn your too? Nice. Would love to see bigger pics or close-ups of your Goldie, they all have their own little character traits acquired as Murphy ages them.

BTW I assume there will be no Goldie's in VOS finish? All aged, right?

And TW - how would you feel about Donna being put out in a VOS finish, or would you prefer all aged models to better reflect Donna's actual character? And is Donna pretty clean apart from weather checking, or has she got any minor battle scars that Murphy will have to recreate?

Nice top on your Melvyn, Steven - that's a great example of the VOS model. Do you use the OOP sound much?

Donna is very clean, but it would be nice to get it looking like a clean 50 year old guitar. The only real scars are circle indents from the Grovers, and I don't plan to duplicate that. Any other tiny nicks or scratches probably will not be matched either.
But it shouldn't look brand new.

Duo of Gary Moore. The one on the left was my first but let go of it when I got the one on the right.
