• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Original Parts Question

I have a 69 Custom with the type of strap buttons below. I am pretty sure they are an origianl Gibson button but not sure if they are origanl to my guitar, the rest of the hardware is of course gold. I like them because they work great but have a much more original look to me than "straplocks". What years were these used by Gibson --- if any?

Thanks...Mark

That ebay description is rubbish. Those straplocks were early 80's equipment. I had a pair on a 81 Vee.

Just for clarification... that is not my auction but it did start wonderning if they could be original to my 69 even though they aren't gold. So did they start using them in the 80's? I have owned two guitars with these my 69 and a if memory another custom from about that same time frame maybe even another 69.
