Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Here's the latest incarnation of my board. Kinda funny how it is now about twice as big and heavy as my gigging amp, a Goodsell Super-seventeen. I built a multi-conductor cable, with a 7 pin XLR that carries DC power from a power supply back with the amp and two outputs from the board to the amp. So, I just pull this cable out of the back of my amp, plug into the board (top-right) and make music. Was concerned I'd have hum trouble with power going down the same cable as output signals, but, it's never cause a moment's problem. All this is in an SKB case that has a multi-guitar stand in it's top. Has a wired input or wireless. The Timmys and Dynacomp are ahead of the Looper, everything else accessed through the looper. A FORTUNE in George Ls on this thing, but, well worth it. Was surprised at how well the little Line6 wireless has worked for me. A bit heavy to lug around, but, it keeps all my stuff in one place.
Yup. That can be powered by 48v Phantom. You just have to tell the sound guy. After he scratches his head and says alright, it lights up. Just kind sorta like a DI. I can run a 20' xlr since it's balanced (actually I believe xlr can go 6000' without signal loss but who does that?) Then I just power the reverb pedal. 9v or battery for that. Done.
So that stuff weighs about two pounds and goes into a small shoulder bag.
I have six settings on that from tweed to twin. I control the volume at the guitar. It can get as much volume as the pa can put out. That is mucho.
The only thing I can say is that hot pickups can cause a slight, very slight, compression on hard picking. I notice it but I don't think any one else does. If they have they never said so.
