I was "informed" by someone I showed my "Guitar room" to once that I had a Hoard. He said the difference between a 'Hoard' and a 'collection' was if/how it was shared with others.
I took that to heart. I don't care if someone else is a 'hoarder', but as for me, I 'share' my collection by taking them out and playing them at gigs, letting others see/play them if they want, and sharing pictures of my stuff on forums like this.
Many of my vintage guitars were in rough shape when I acquired them (usually from 'players'), and I invested the money to get them restored thereby preserving them for future generations. How can it be considered 'greedy' or 'selfish' to do this?
I understand why the admin 'banned' the guy, although his comments didn't offend me, I find others comments enlightening as to the viewpoints of others.
His comments still made little sense. Who determines the deserved 'talent' of someone? Is there to be some worldwide "board of trustees" that takes the worlds supply of guitars and assigns individual instruments to people based on their mad skillz? LOL
