• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Finally a "real" Historic Gibson Les Paul

Once Gibson admitted guilt and paid the fine, I'd say that's not even up for debate anymore.

That's true, but somehow it's the government's fault. Like if I get a ticket for speeding somehow it's the police officer's fault.

The thing that angry middle-aged white guys are best at is being a victim. Radio blowhards and FOX news pundits are making a career out of being victimized every day. Henry J's misfortunes feed right into this paranoia. It's a booming industry. Talk about self-reliance.

And that guitar is fugly! I can see Ted Nugent buying a bunch of them.

No, it's like if you get a ticket for speeding & the police beat you w/sticks & then sit on your chest until you die.

Setting aside the fact it's an unconstitutional law with no basis in logic or reason, they paid the fine because it was cheaper than fighting it in court. If one believes in the law of the land, as I do, they did NOT break the law.

Ad02Std..."Huh...?...He doesn't even look gay...?"

It's called the Peace Les Paul. It comes in Mellow Out Green, Harmonious Sunset, Peaceful Orange, Placid Purple, Tranquillity Blue Burst, and Serenity Sunrise finishes. It has the Min-Etune system, so you won't have to bother learning how to tune it. It has CND signs on the knobs and is supplied in a hemp-covered case with tye-dye interior.

It seems like Gibson have really pushed the boat out trying to please you, and now you want the guitar to suck you off as well?!

In the UK here, you are considered innocent until proven guilty. The bueden is on the accuser to prove you have broken the law. Guilt is never implied by agreeing a settlement, financial or otherwise.
The law here may not be perfect, but it's as balanced as we can make it. I think the balance and bias in the USA is somewhat different and maybe not as fair as it could be.
just saying...

What an ignorant thing to post.
Why? Because in dealing with US govt agencies and serious violations (and many not so serious), and as a matter of routine in arriving at such settlements, the settlement agreement, will in 99% of such matters, as a matter of law, recite that there has been a violation-which is an admission of guilt-same as in the UK. And, guilt can indeed be implied, which is why a well drafted settlement statement will specifically state that it is denied.

Why does the govt do this? So the next time, they can prove intent, and there will be greater repercussions, fines , and possible criminal liability (and incentives to follow the applicable laws). The purpose is to achieve compliance in the future.
