• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Picked this one up recently.
I've never seen this color (ALL NATURAL) before on a Studio, especially a first year issue 1983 w/ 372 883 and 373 883 Shaw pickups.
Definitely not a refin, since ALL NAT is stamped in the pup cavities.
Very curious to hear if someone has one, seen one, or just knows anything about it.
Lots of pix...Here's one:

Damn, I count 7 pieces. That ties a record with one i've seen before.

5 or 7 pieces? Who cares? It looks cool and I'm sure it sounds nice.

I recall seeing something like that before, but I can't seem to remember when or where. I like it, though.

+1 Surprised they would put that out in that color with that top, even in those days. Bet that was not an easy sale for some store back then.

You might be right about not being an easy sale back then, but it sure was an easy one for me last week when I bought it for $650 with the case and the Shaw's.:wow

That's a good price for someone who DOESN'T like the guitar! Good job and congrats!

Yes....That's a clean plain-Jane player. If it were black, no one would raise an eyebrow. The clear shows its good wood, even if it is in so many pieces.

Nice guitar. Bet it sounds nice and "woody".

She rocks!
This is my first LP with Shaw's and they are truly awesome.
Obviously not too many of these around I suppose.
Thanks.

Wow, and people complain about Lesters with 2 piece backs! I think it's pretty shocking for Gibson to make a supposedly quality instrument using 5 pieces of wood for the body, especially if it's intended to be a natural finish. However, at $650 with Shaws I wouldn't be complaining too loudly.

Agree with everything you said.
And yes, with what I got, at that price, I am not complaining at all.
Thanks, SK
