Has anybody tried them in this amp?

How do they compare to Tesla/JJ's (gain/coloration/clean channel)?

I have but one blew and the another is to microphonic, I ended up with two jj's and one sov (LPS). I got my Ei's from the tube store so you should get them from someone better eg lordvalve is ment to have good ones. I would suggest you get lots of different ones and experiment for your self. good luck

100watt,

Are you running the Sovtek LPS in V1? How do you like the LPS? I heard the LPS was very nasal sounding...

Did you try running the EH in V1, with the JJ's in V2 and V3?

It's inthe position closest to the power amp tubes. I like the sound of the LPS it has alot of clarity. My mate likes the LP even better in his jub 2555. I experianced gain and volume loss from the jj's. I don't know why yet, as others don't get this. (maybe it's the 240 volt power here in New Zealand) The Ei's had more sparkle kind od sounded more like a vox if your into that.

The Sovtek LPS, JJ Tesla and the EH 12AX7's are all very good. Some people even like the Groove Tubes 12AX7C's which are Chinese, but have a tone all their own. Ei's are supposed to very, very good, but beware of the microphonic ones!!! They are notorious for being microphonic.

I prefer NOS !!! I really like RCA 12AX7's, black plate or not. They have a wonderful clarity and response to them whether it is for a Marshall or Fender amp.
