• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I have had an early 80's 2 piece flametop with what appears to be an early style small headstock and neck in dimension. It is however clear maple, no volute, and inlaid with what appears to be older looking inlay material.

It doesn't look a thing like any of my other 70's-80's Les Pauls.....even the scarf of the top looks different. If it didn't have that maple neck I would say it is some type of re-issue attempt.

Anybody know anything about them ?

Does that 500 series # hold true for Kalamazoo manufacture for that year?

I have been wondering about the thing for many years...I just always figured someone special ordered it that way.....never have seen another.....Thanks

Well the Standard 80 Heritage Reissue was 1980-82 and 83 was the Reissue 1959 series and end of the three piece maple neck.
