• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Yes, those will work. They have shorter springs than others that I have seen...in order to accommodate those short tubes that are listed there....
6V6, 6S_7's, GZ34/5AR4, etc.
Retensioning the tube sockets will help, also, but be forewarned that there are dangerous voltages there. Why did Fender not use retainer clips on the small amps?? I suppose that they didn't envision anyone carrying these little amps around very much. The big amps were the pro rigs that were going to see 'action'., right? How times have changed.

Tightening the tube sockets is a far better solution.

If you've got 6V6s falling out, you don't have good connections.

I agree with Wilko that the retensioning of the sockets needs to be done whether or not you install tube retainers.

Wilko & Wally make great points. Loose sockets could lead to a bunch of trouble.

Thanks for the advice guys :salude

They stay in when playing, it's the bumpy car rides that's the problem. I will get them seen to though :) I have some replacement sockets.
