Saw this posted in the Baltimore CL.

For 2k, I emailed him and said if it's still available, I'll take it! (credit card via paypal or any damn thing haha)

http://baltimore.craigslist.org/msd/3188093061.html

Email i got back...

"Hello,

Thank you for your email. I am glad that you want to buy my 2012 Gibson Les Paul Historic 1959 R9 Reissue Guitar. My asking price is US $2,000.00. From the beginning I want to tell you that I left the USA a couple of days ago (the day after I put the product on sale) and I came to United Kingdom with my job (I am a member of the "Save The Children Foundation"). If you still want to buy it, we can do it in a very safe way using an escrow company. They will handle the delivery (since I took the item with me) and will offer you a number of days of Inspection so you can test and see that the item is exactly as described by me. I will pay all shipping/escrow fees.

Thanks,
Adam"

Yeah, thanks Adam! :rofl :rofl :rofl

Already marked it as spam on craigslist. What a joker.

Yeah, I thought the original ad was a bit fishy, so I just sent an email and told him I'd take it for 2,000.

The ad looks legitimate, except for the LOW price, then his email response confirmed it was obviously a scam.

Not sure if my sarcasm peeked through in the thread-opener, but I am well aware it's a scam. Posted this as a warning to anyone else who comes across a similar craigslist ad.

Thanks!

So, supposedly he listed the guitar for sale in Baltimore the day before he moved to the UK. Um, ok...

Send me the guitar first, THEN I’ll send you the money. Since he moved, he should be the one to take a chance. And he’d have a much easier time selling a Gibson overseas.

I realize this is a 6 year old thread. The best response with these tyes of scams is to tell the seller you are located in the city he moved to and would like to come see it in person.
