• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Glad I didn't jump on that fake custom I posted a week ago; rosewood fretboard, weird headstock, etc.

I've always heard good things about the first few years of the Les Paul Classic, so I threw a max bid on one on ebay and won it last night for 1325 bucks:

The seller seems cool, already contacted me, and hopefully she arrives safe and sound. Serial is 2 5327

Just wanted to share the new guitar info with ya'll, I've been feeling nasty withdrawal since I sold my LP over this past summer. Good to be back.

Oh also, what's up with the super yellowed tuner keys? That happen to the older ones or something? Maybe just lived as a smoker its whole life

Love that top. Don't know about those yellow keys. Otherwise, looks great, and I hope it's a player.

Cool, thanks. Yeah i noticed a subtle hint of figuring on the top, I'll snap some better pics when she shows up.

Wonder why you would change the keys to that nasty yellow!?

Thanks Mark!

she'll be shipping out tomorrow, hopefully she'll arrive by next weekend.

Just got off the phone with the seller, he bought it from the original owner who never played it much, and says it still looks brand new, no fret wear, etc. He said the tuners were like that when he bought it, no smoke smell etc, so... dunno, anybody else have a 92 classic? you have funky-colored tuners too?

I have a couple from that time frame, and they have regular looking tuner buttons.

Looks like those were either changed or someone tried to age them.

Nice looking guitar.

Congrats, and welcome back to the LP World. :salude

Ah ok, wonder what kind of tuners they are where you can buy them yellow like that? Weird...

Thanks! I'll try my darnedest to stay here this time! :lol

It looks like the inlays aren't that funky green color. Those stock pickups are going to make that thing "smoke." Very nice looking guitar. Good luck with it! :)

Yeah thanks! as far as i know the 1991-1993 classics were sort of like historic 1960 models or something? no colored inlays and whatnot.

can't find these yellow keys anywhere though! I think some Klusons I see on ebay have a slight yellow tint even though they're new.
