02 R8

hey guys. I bought an 02 R8 from a forum brother last august. The sticker on the pick guard says "butterscotch". The top has a beautiful flame to it. The finish is nice and thin. I love the guitar. What i'd like to ask you guys is for some info on these beautiful guitars. Some factoids etc....

Factoid #1: ummmm, it was the year they split between 57 classics & BBs....so, you could've gotten either. and you can't tell them apart without taking them apart. at least I can't.

Not a fact but I believe the best era for Les pauls. They will be classics in the future. I just picked one up last week. Gibson should have never went away from those tops.

They are different than what is coming out now. The new may be more accurate but the ones from that era are made different. Better than any new one I played lately. Maybe I'm wrong and everyone will hate them, but that's ok with me, it will mean that I can pick up a few more.

I have a '93 pre Classis, Classic...that is definitely a Classic.

Says so, right on the TRC.

I also have an '02 R8...great guitar. Not a Classic, per se.

Just login/create an account and upload your pics to photobucket. When uploaded, the pics get an image code (amongst other codes) IMG code, that you copy and paste directly into your post. The pics will show in you post.

It's a 2001. I think this is my favorite year for a R8.
