Here comes the EDS-1275 signature, again.

This time, I am sure the anchor will be a signed Murphy Lab, perhaps an excursion to London, like the Greeny. 100k? Will they float the model down from Signed, to unsigned ML, a USA, then Epi like the Greeny...? Probably.

X marks the spot. Look like there's more to come. An extended collaboration.

Gibson x Jimmy Page: the collaborative partnership you've been waiting for.
As part of the celebrations of the new #GibsonGarageLondon, we are excited to announce that Gibson has entered a collaborative partnership with one of the most influential musicians in history, Jimmy Page. An icon across all genres of music, art, and culture, and as co-founder of one of the biggest bands of all time, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy leveraged his blues and folk inspirations, and artistry to develop the pioneering rock sound that became the signature of the band. Being the main music writer in Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page has forever impacted the sound of music, and pioneered the sound of rock across all its variations.
“When I met with Cesar and he explained what the future of Gibson looked like, I knew I needed to be involved. There is a spirit in the place; after seeing the people working at the factories and getting a connection with them, I knew that picking up that Les Paul Custom and the Doubleneck all those years ago was certainly the right decision.” - Jimmy Page

Umm, yeah. Pretty sure cagey Pagey knew he loved his Gibsons long before Cesar came along with this publicist wanking.

I'll be on the sidelines. I am a southpaw so don't see any coming my way, and wouldn't spend that much anyway... I'll keep happy with my Historics and such.

Cheers to those who will indulge! ?

Yes, do a run of Number 2 with the toggles under the guard, and 3 with the B-bender. They could do the Custom again with Murphy aging.

They could do Number 1 again like Fender did with the Tele Mirror/Dragon, in different versions, PAF, T-Type, 2nd PAF with push-pull variant... along with progressive fading and increased aging.

Imagine a full set, signed?! Run of 50. I am sure there are those that would pay.

[He's getting $2k for signed photo prints the market is there.]

They don't need to beat the dead horse like they did with "Greeny". That's for certain. They already made #1, #2 and The Custom. Move on.

Todd asked this a while back but I don't think he ever got a good answer.

What strings are used on that guitar? The extended tailpiece is a long way down there. Especially on the long 12'er headstock.

Gibson will do the Double Neck, The Custom ( but a more accurate version cuz now it actually is in hand) and Number 1

I think #2 will be left out in the cold and the people who have OG number 2s will win in the end

Also WTF is this all for anyway.... my biggest complaint here is you have the you tube video that says NOTHING, u have a press release that says NOTHING and u have jimmy page who like usually says NOTHING u announced a big NOTHING.

Jimmy Page likes Gibson guitars is not news. my mom could tell you that

They'll do the usual - make a limited run of the really expensive/collector grade model, then a slightly less expensive Murphy Lab historic version, then a more affordable Epiphone version. No need to get you underwear in a bunch. Mr. Page could do a lot worse things in terms of selling out, at least it is still involving guitars. No loss of respect for Gibson or Page for me personally. It could be far, far worse.

I'll be damned if there is ever a Chinese trash piece of shit Epiphone with Jimmy Page's name on it.
If they are following Kirks plan but with Jimmy, they will 100% be doing Epiphone Jimmy Page models.

Id imagine #1 with the Push/Pull
and id say a solid chance at the Double Neck. If you look back at the cherry red double neck they used to make it was essentially a take on Jimmy Pages with the set back tailpiece and the Open coil on the 6 string neck and covered on the 12 neck.

To even mention Kirk in the same sentence is a joke itself. I just pray I don't see it. Jimmy Page has done everything he's needed to do and remains the Real Deal.

There is nothing less rock n roll than a soulless Chinese guitar. I pray Jimmy Page isn't dragged into it. Though it is the Year of the Dragon... If they could ever get him to sell out now's the time!

1: A new EDS 1275 would have a very limited market I would think?
2: A 'Zeppelin' #1 LP Reissue could leave a sour taste in the mouths of those who spent huge money on the 2004 reissue that was merely a "post Zeppelin reissue" and had NOTHING in common electrically with the Zeppelin instrument.
Many who bought that thought you could get Zeppelin tones. To be sadly mistaken.
3: Maybe they'll make some Zosobuckers.. They won't be happy I thought of it first . It's my replacement for the 50th Anniversaries.

As did the Greeny, after CC#1.

They can (and probably will) use the Murphy Lab designation to justify and differentiate from CC#1. Also, above I argue for an 'era correct' variations of PAF/T-Type/Post-Zep, etc. Will they do these? We'll see.

I am all for a Number 3. I doubt a Transperformance would ever pass muster.

Re the Old Pickups...A T Top they can re create.. The White Bridge PAF Humbucker ( not easily). I doubt if they'll have the original? Different thought process in 1972. Roadies just discarded old/broken parts back then.
That's why a new T Top went in .Just get a 'New 'pickup to replace the old broken one . There was probably no consideration to find another PAF.
The neck PAF? Who knows?.. It was replaced many years later..It wasn't the original when Tim Mills of Bare Knuckles worked on the instrument early 2000's.
It took me an incredibly long time for me to create accurate replicas of those pickups ( by ear)..Unless Gibson can locate the originals, It will be too expensive (R&D)
