Guys/ Gals,

I got my '57 RI Goldtop - sweet guitar! Serial # 711309 - is that a 2001?

Anyhow should it come with the cert of authenticity that the '58 and '59 RI's come with? It had all the other case candy.

Thanks in advance.

Nigel

NO certificate.
I don't even have one for my R9. Dewey, did it come with one?

They should come with them. I bought a late '01 R7 dark back about a month or so ago and it was in the box. Make sure you check well for it in the box, and just in case you haven't checked, the bottom of the case. If it's not there, contact your dealer. Did you get the goody bag with the cord and stuff?

Just got my '57 RI BB, it came with the certificate. However, there is no historic shop logo printed on the headstock back...hmm

Damn! My 2000 Goldtop didn't have a cert! I thought only '99 R9s and some of Murphy's stuff got one. Are you sure about that Gazza, it's *definitely* for your particular Goldtop?

Maybe I need to send the warranty thing to someone?> I didn't bother, cos I was importing it to the UK....

My 01 r9 has one. I'll have our art guy scan it, remove my serial number and model, and put in anything you want. Of course, this will cost a small fee;\

No historic logo is correct.

Sean, I recall they did not offer any certificate for HC guitars made in the year 2000. They may have went back to doing that for 2001...

I've been seeing RIs sold on ebay w/ the little goodie bag (cord, cloth, etc.). I didn't get one & thought I'd missed out. Decided to make a trip to the attic today, and sure enough...in the bottom of both boxes....goodie bags. Can't have too many polishing cloths or cords. One bag had 3 Gibson CS historic picks as well...the other one didn't. Be sure & check in the bottom of the box for your cert. Mine were in the case though.

I'll have to call the store & see if they have mine somewhere.

I noted something interesting in the exposed top in the cutaway - FLAME! So, do I remove the gold and see a nice flamed top....?

Cheers
