I posted a picture of my '67 headstock over there... That guy just bought his ES-335 and was originally told it was a '66. The actual year is not concerning him...he loves the guitar. What's more, he's delighted to have found a PAF in the bridge. What are the chances of a (presumably) chrome PAF coming out of the factory in 1969?

My 69 LPC had TWO pre-T, pat numbers in it. But Im pretty sure it was just the bobbins as it has early T-Top construction features (wire etc).

Also, he said PAF, maybe it was just swapped in at some point?

Moon, you can find mix and match in pre T-top and T-top pickups.

I have a pre T-top with one purple wire coil and one reddish wire coil.

I have a T-top with one reddish coil and one orange coil.

Both have white leads on them too.

Gibson used whatever was in the parts bins.

Interesting, I didn't know that they even mixed wire color in the same pickup, wow.
