Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Long time player. Gigging musician. I can hold my own with a soldering iron. Please help, does anyone have exp in doing the "50's Wiring Mod" specifically on a newer LP? I know it opens up your pups and acts as a treble bleed. Thanks.
With all pots on 10 you will not hear any difference between the wirings! Other suggestions: To cure a muddy neck pup you can change the Volume pot to 1 meg (still a bit muddy but more balanced with more highs), change the magnet to a A4 (best cure imo) or install a treble bleed of any kind (will only work with lower volume setting on the volume pot).
