What would you suggest to be maximum but still correct strings height at the 1st fret?

I think the minimum height is more relevant question. The higher you go the more intonation issues you have

    Intonation issues

It does make sense. I will have to work with it. Worst case I get carried away and need to replace the nut. Probably should have replaced the stock one years ago anyway

    Intonation issues

I was tracking a tune on the LP with a lot of tight harmony played in the first 3 frets. It really exposed intonation issues. It's fine further up the neck. The nut slots are not excesively high. It's odd that it's that far off. I suppose a compensated nut is an option but that is a leap. Had...

    Brighten up a 2000 Standard

Both. It's probably more accurate to say it does not have as much top end chime as I would like than too much low end. I need to pull the 10k Duncan Brobucker out of it and contiunue looking for lower wind options. That experiment did not pan out. Those new DimarIo 57 pafs might be an option...

Does Ron Ellis wear the PAFs crown?

I am more of a Seth lover guy.. Great winders but are beyond what I can spend on pickups.

Gibson Custom Shop = anonymous consumers x special consumers.

Those details should have been in writing. Send them back with a copy of said instructions and tell them to fix them. I hope you did not pay up front

    Brighten up a 2000 Standard

I didn't choose the RS kit for the 50s wiring, just the pre-selected pots. I think maybe this ole girl may just have a fat ass but I will keep experimenting(

    Brighten up a 2000 Standard

I put an RS kit with 50's wiring in it. I have had a few paf style pickups in it and it still sounds a bit dark. What are some non pickup ideas to brighten, or maybe de-bass the guitarca bit?

Aerosmith says, 'Peace Out' - announce Final Tour (?)

He was not diagnosed until several months after the tour ended. He did want to call it a career though because 3 hr shows at that age is no small thing to do at the level he did it at.

    Making R8 brighter

A small cap in series with the hot lead of the pickup will reduce low end. might be worth a shot

Aerosmith says, 'Peace Out' - announce Final Tour (?)

About 15 years too late.... There is a lesson here Motley Crue.... Love Rush or hate them, they knew when to call it and go out the right way

Chime up a 2000 LP Std

Les Paul has a fat a$$ and not enough bite. Duncan Brobucker in the bridge slot. RS wiring harness, 50's wiring. I think the 10k pickup may not be the best choice for what I want. Thinking maybe a Pearly Gates would help. Suggestions?
