• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

    Pigtail stud ???

I received the Pigtail TP, studs and bushings and decided to use the studs and TP W/O the bushing for the time being. I placed the stud in the existing Gibson bushing and about 1/2 way in it stopped turning. I am aware that the PT is longer than the Gibson but not by that much!!!!!! Do I just...

    Pigtail Service ????

I am wondering about ordering a wrap tail for my SC LP Special. Is there any problem with receiving the item in a timely manner? {I would consider 1 week or so timely} I mean no offence but I thought there may have been problems with getting ordered items from Pigtail.

    2006 LP Special

I just picked up a 2006 LP Special Historic. This is a very nice guitar and fit and finish are outstanding. I was lucky enough to get a gloss finish too!!!! The neck is nice and chunky although it is supposed to be a 60's profile. The cherry finish is a neat shade too. It is not bright red. The...

    Finally saw a VOS 59

I rarely go to music stores but I had to kill some time today so I finally had a chance to see a VOS 59 today at MAE in Ft. Lauderdale. It looked really nice with a subtle flame and a subdued burst color As I was not going to buy it the sales guy did not want to bring it down for me to...

    New Club40 Germino arrives !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great in red and sounds just like my 67 JTM 50 watt Marshall!!!!!!! It sounded very close and I did some pre amp tube swapping with some RCA 7025's that were in the drawer. With the TAD's it came with it was brighter and with all old pre tubes it was warmer. I switched V2 for an old 7025...

    2000 Aged SG/LP question ?????

The original SG/LP re-issue guitars that are "aged" -w- the lyre vibrola, they seem different than the "authentics" that are currently offered. The neck seems thicker and fretboard wider. Does Gibson still sell these "aged" SG/LP guitars? They are very realistic compared to the authentics or so...

    Clapton's SG

All these Clapton threads have me wondering something....... What did Clapton's SG that was painted by the " Fool " start out as......... A sideways vibrola job or one -w- a " lyre " vibrola? Also..... I read somewhere that the caps were changed to give it a different tone...... to what...

    RS Kit question......

Just installed a RS historic prewired kit in my LP\SG Historic. It came -w- the caps wired across the neck volume pot that allows for less high tone loss when you lower the volume pot. I'm not certain I like this however I have not used it at the gig yet. Any opinions??? Also... what would be...

    Visited my local GC and..............

I went looking at high$$$ guitars..... Les Paul Historics and PRS Just briefly....... The guitars were not even remotely set up unless you wanted to play slide. Way high action and bowed necks. The best was the GC special run 60's Tak burst. 1959...58...57 All needed a truss rod adjustment and...

    !986 Flame Top

What can the LPF experts tell me about my 1986 LP flame top re-issue. Serial # 6 0380 {inked on} It came -w- zebras under the covers and has a steep neck angle and weighs 9.2lbs. Although it is not historically correct the top is a beautiful burst that I have not seen reprsented here. Amber in...
