Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I really hate when they have a deal I can't refuse. I was looking, for a goof, for another Gibson with PAFs to plug into my Metro since I have it sounding so tits with my ES-335, and my buddy behind the counter brought my attention to this guy--a 2006 Gibson Flying V that had been there since...
My ES-335 used to be my go to guitar, but lately it's just seemed, I dunno, noisy in the mix. I thought maybe I was getting old or something and the ES-335 was too powerful of a guitar for me (which'd be really weird), but the other day I noticed I could tap on the guitar and it'd come through...
Couldn't pass it up! Got the sales guy to sell it to me for $260 since it has a bad standby switch. Got it home, checked it out, just the switch is bad and it's always stuck closed anyway, big deal! Point to point wired, all tube, tremolo, alnico 12" speaker, and best part... it looks bad ass...
It's here!!
And after a couple of hours...
Here's a sound clip:

Definitely doesn't show the full glory of the amp for the following reasons:
1.) JCM 900 1936 cab with G12T-75's. I don't keep my Greenie cabs at home.
2.) Cheeeeeeeeeap Samson mic...
Here you go!

There was a lot of 2210 hate on the board last week, so I hope you guys dig the tone. It's mildly modded and running JJ 6V6S power tubes. That's me playing through it with the White Falcon. The other...
Well, I loved my Standard so much after fixing it, I had to have another LP. Couldn't get another 'bucker Les Paul though, so I went out and picked up this guy today. It rocks in my Valve Jr., so I can't wait to see how it sounds in my JCM 800! I'm stoked! :hank

All of the wiring, electronics swaps, and pickup swaps have finally paid off. Not only do I have a Les Paul that I consider satisfactory, I have one that I can't put down! Seriously, it's been like two weeks of pure Les Paul bliss.
I don't know if you all recall my trials and tribulations with...
My Pop is thinking about trading his silver Les Paul in for a Firebird, and before we go out and get just any ol' Firebird at the store, is there anything to avoid? I know there are good and bad Les Pauls, i.e. Nashville vs. Historic, so does the same fall true for Firebirds? I saw a nice, white...
He has a '70 or '71 ES-335TD with a headstock repair that he's thinking about swapping me for my '96 Les Paul Standard. The guitar sounds awesome, and the headstock repair looks ancient, but is it worth it dollar-wise? Dunno what an old 335 is worth with a cracked stock.
Worthless without pics...
Can you guys shoot me a list of popular P-90 style pickups that fit in a humbucker route? I'm thinking about getting a set of P-94's for my '96 LP, but I wanna see what else it out there. Opinions are most certainly welcome too.
Is that possible? My Les Paul sounds excellent when plugged in by myself, but with the band it gets buried under the mix. I think I'm actually generating too much preamp gain/breakup. I mean, recorded, I love it, but it just doesn't pop like my ES-335 or Stratocaster (can I even say Stratocaster...
